Probate

 

Probate is the legal process that occurs when someone passes away. Essentially is the administration of your estate in the event of your Passing. It is a process dealing with your assets and the liabilities of your Estate and then executing your Will according to your wishes. So the Will and Probate go hand in hand.

 

In your will you name executors who will be responsible for dividing/distributing you will. If you don’t have a will the next of kin may need to apply for Letters of Administration.
